Abstract
A report on research conducted by the Institute for Child Development (IWRD, Gdansk, Poland) on the development of play skills through backward chaining using video modelling. Social-behavior deficits in children with autism will be presented and compared with those in normally developing children. Techniques to teach social behaviors will be described. Video clips illustrating how to initiate conversation using scripts (research from PCDI) and the development of play skills using video modelling (IWRD research) will be shown.
