Abstract
In much clinical work, behavioral analytic methods are used, while the same clinicians often explain language and grammar without using behavioral analytic terms. This can lead to ineffective clinical work, and the methods are used as a form of package solution rather than the intervention being based on individual analysis. Skinner's analysis of verbal behavior shows that verbal behavior is based on functional relationships. This analysis must be used as a basis for behavioral language training.
